So, what are our goals?
- First and foremost. Have fun. That’s what we’re here for.
- Be a fun, friendly relaxed guild for all age groups
- Become capable of completing end-game content
- Form strong alliances with other guilds
- Be an honorable, reliable and respected guild.
- Oh… and have fun.
General Conduct:
It is important to remember that while playing in a group, chatting in open channels or posting on the WoW boards that we represent the Alter Ego and our actions reflect the entire group. Please remember to show respect to fellow members and players by maintaining a civil manner in open chat and discussion boards. Alter Ego have started to work hard to maintain a fair, fun and trustworthy reputation. Keeping this reputation benefits us all by maintaining strong ties with other guilds and we all have more chance of being invited to groups.
Remember to keep your temper with group members and group leaders. If we have a wipe, a poor run, a cancelled run or a general error in a group, try to maintain civility. We can all lose our cool from time to time and that’s acceptable but consistent poor attitudes only hinder group morale. Please try to avoid the following activities also:
- Spamming any of the WoW channels
- Spamming of guild chat
- Begging for money
- Griefing
Guild Chat:
We want all members to be able to use this channel so it is important that we keep this channel accessible to all by keeping the chat friendly and clean. Please have fun in guild chat. It’s there so that we can all get to know each other, but please try to refrain from any language or subject that may cause offence.
Grouping (also see loot rules):
Whether grouping with guild mates, friendly guilds or PUG’s please remember to respect other players by:
- Following the loot rules of the group.
- Taking only your fair share of quest items.
- No flaming of fellow players
- Follow the wishes of the group leader
- Be sure that you are repaired and have all the items that you will need.
If you are having problems in a group such as unfair looting or abusive behavior that cannot be resolved by contacting the group leader, it is wise to simply leave the group rather than become part of a flame war. If you do find yourself in a group dispute, please contact a AE officer who will be able to help you out in resolving the problem. Avoid posting details of any dispute on the Ego boards. It’s much better if we can resolve disputes amicably. Remember to provide the officer with screenshots where possible.
Sometimes groups can go on for long periods of time and you can’t always stay for the duration. We know that real life is more important than WoW and sometimes people have to leave early. The only thing that we ask of you before leaving a group is please be sure to do all that you can before your exit. If you can Buff, Dispel, Heal or Resurrect a player before leaving, please do so.
Removal from Alter Ego's:
Let’s not dwell on this section too much, but people should be aware of actions that will force the removal of a player from the guild.
- Ninja Looting.
- Griefing. Don’t ruin it for other players.
- Persistent abusive behavior to guild members or other players
- Persistent unsociable behavior
- Use of cheats/hacks
- Any other behavior that is deemed detrimental to the guild by the officers
Only on rare occasions have we been forced to remove people form the guild. Lets keep it that way.
Contribution to the guild.
Attendance: Although we like to see all of our members on regularly basis, we do not force any kind of attendance rules. Play when you can or when you want, that’s no problem!
Assistance : There are times when we all need help in this game and asking for help isn’t a problem. However, please be sure that you are willing to assist others if you’re in a position to. Remember how you felt when you needed assistance. Please don’t expect assistance without repaying the favor.
Recruitment:
We have a great bunch of people so far and we are always on the lookout for new members. New members should be directed to this website to register and complete a guild application (You will find a Guild Recruitment Forum Here). New members are recruited on a probationary period. If new members fit in well with the group then they remain as part of the guild at the discretion of the officers.
We encourage all of our members to give a helping hand when it comes to recruitment.
It’s the end… finally.
I know that’s a lot to take in, but as our guild grows it is important that we maintain our reputation on our server(s). The Alter Ego's have many friends in some great guilds and we want to keep it that way.
We have been extremely lucky. We have managed to get some absolutely fantastic people in this guild and we’re extremely proud of it. It’s all of us that make the guild what it is, not just a handful of people so keep up the hard work guys!
